Useful Tips |
| Speed limit - by benny from USA |
| Speed limits are slow! Here in Laredo Texas they go more than 75mph! Plus ya need to hire some new police down there because they dont do shit!! When some one takes something from your car! Like my 22" rims that were on my 2004 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR!!! You guys down there need more law enforcement!! |
Mexico City Overview |
| The 1,480 square Kilometres that is Mexico City is a mixture of modern, high efficiency as in Reforma, extravagant wealth in southern suburbia, commercial density in the centro, and abject
poverty in the informal shantytowns that are home to over two million people living without municipal support. Landlocked Mexico City is encircled by mountains, has no natural water reserves and suffers a severe pollution problem, yet for all this the people remain resolutely determined to survive and greet each day with a loud, brash, and bold spirit that is apparent in their fantastic art, and lack of concern for other people’s opinion. |

Mexico City Essentials |
Catedral Metropolitana –the imposing Cathedral dominates the city and draws attention to the people’s conflicting religious beliefs.
Palacio National – This historical building was constructed in 1529 on the original site of the palace of the Aztec ruler Moctezuma II’s using stones from the destroyed citadel.
Templo Mayer (Teocalli) – The ruins of this Aztec temple appear deceptively uninteresting, until the visitor explores the underground chambers and discovers a succession of pyramids built on top of
one another.
Palacio de Bellas Artes – 19th century Mexican art dominates the museum’s collection, and is housed in an impressive white Art Nouveau building, that has sunk 5 metres lower into the soft ground.
Museo Nacional de Antropologia – This vast mega-museum houses 4 km of Mexico’s finest ethnographic and archaeological treasures, and attracts intellectuals to the country from around the globe. |

Mexico City Calendar - Pick of the Year's Events |
Revolution Day – (20th November) This Public Holiday is marked by military parades and is attended by the President.
Mexico City Pride – (June) a celebration of gay and lesbian pride
